You slayed me with the Gordes tour. My first real trips were to Provence where I was the house guest of friends from Berkeley who were renting Patricia and Walter Wells House in Vaison-la-Romaine for two summers(before she started her cooking classes).
Everything about Gordes is fantastic as are so many of the neighboring villages. From the marche to the cicadas it has to be one of the great spots in the world. Unfortunately, some towns get a little too full of tourists during the high season.
I may even be able to do the cherry recipe.
